Chinese Ambassador to Samoa Fei Mingxing Attends the 2026 Charming China (Guangdong): Lingnan Culture Travels to the South Pacific (Samoa) Event

On August 4, Chinese Ambassador to Samoa Fei Mingxing attended the 2026 Charming China (Guangdong): Lingnan Culture Travels to the South Pacific (Samoa) event. Samoan Minister for Education and Culture Hon. Aiono Dr. Alec Ekeroma, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Hon. Agaseata Tanuvasa Valelio Tanuvasa Peto, Minister of Family and Social Affairs Hon. Moefa'auouo Julius Ah Kui Tafuna'i, Deputy Director-General of the Information Office of Guangdong Provincial People’s Government Mr Deng Hong, alongside representatives from multiple Samoan government departments and local Chinese community were present.

Ambassador Fei reviewed the historical ties between Guangdong and Samoa, acknowledged Guangdong’s contributions to China-Samoa friendship, and stated that China is ready to deepen cultural exchanges and mutual learning with Samoa to steadily advance the China-Samoa community with a shared future.

Hon Aiono extended a warm welcome to the Guangdong delegation, commended the event for its diverse and innovative arrangements, and noted that it would foster friendly bonds between the peoples of the two countries.

Deng Hong briefed participants on Guangdong’s socioeconomic development. He expressed Guangdong’s commitment to pioneering and expanding cooperation and exchanges with Samoa in culture and other fields to bolster bilateral relations.

Programmes during the event included photo exhibitions and product showcases. The film Dear You held its exclusive premiere in Samoa.
